P/J pickup arrangement for a universe of great bass tones
The Yamaha TRBX174 sports a classic pickup layout: a split-coil in the middle position and a single-coil at the bridge. The Precision-style split-coil serves up the beef, giving you solid, deep fundamentals. the Jazz-style single delivers the growl, with strong mids and highs (particularly if you’re strung up with round-wounds). How you combine the pickups is up to you, but one thing’s for sure – you’ve got tons of tonal options!
