The Tanglewood Union Dreadnought Cutaway is endowed with a powerful profile that is also delightfully comfortable to play. The body is crafted using mahogany, which is a favourite of luthiers and guitarists thanks to its relatively lightweight feel in the hands and its impressive ability to generate resounding tones infused with considerable warmth. The combination of dreadnought body shape and mahogany tonewood establish a rich tonal palette, whilst the solid mahogany top projects a fantastic output with gusto. The natural finish is preserved by a coating of satin to uphold a smooth playing experience. The soundhole is encircled by a maple rosette, whilst ABS black/white top binding and maple side binding enhances the visual aesthetic of the guitar.

ROBUST MAHOGANY NECK

Joined to the body is a robust mahogany neck, which is carved to a rounded profile to create a sturdy yet manageable playing feel. The generous 650mm scale length encourages a warm response from each and every note whilst retaining immaculate articulate. Married to the neck is an eboncore fingerboard, which is home to 20 frets that are decorated with dot position inlays to aid in your navigation. The TWU DCE Union Dreadnought electro acoustic is equipped with Tanglewood’s TW-EX4 pickup and preamp system. Cleverly designed to translate the rich acoustic timbre of your instrument faithfully when amped up, the TW-EX4 does its job without any fuss. There is a built-in 4-band EQ with sliders to attenuate bass, mid, treble and presence, giving you the ability to optimise your output to suit any venue. There’s an independent volume control knob alongside the chromatic tuner button, so that you can readily adjust your level and stay on top of your tuning. The low battery indicator light ensures that you can remain on top of battery replacement without running the risk of it running out mid-performance.

RESILIENT HARDWARE

The body is home to a black walnut bridge and ABS white saddle, which anchors each string to optimise intonation and sustain, ensuring resonant transference between the strings and body is maximised for a glorious output. The headstock is home to chrome die-cast tuning machines, which uphold tuning integrity with dutiful precision.
