The Roland JX-08 Boutique Series sound module brings you the authentic sound of the classic JX-8P synthesizer that first made waves back in 1985. And it’s more easily programmable than the original ever was, thanks to its full set of hands-on controls derived from the PG-800 programmer unit. All 32 original JX-8P presets are here to get you in the mood, plus 111 new presets to show off its potential for modern productions. Complete with 17 onboard effects, including juicy JUNO-106 chorus and classy SDD-320 reverb, the Roland JX-08 Boutique Series sound module offers more creative potential than ever. The original JX-8P broke new ground in 1985 with its hybrid analog-digital architecture, and the JX-08 Boutique Series module authentically re-creates the punch and power producers loved about the original. One thing producers didn’t love, however, was the minimal amount of control the JX-8P offered for programming sounds on the fly.

With dual oscillators, HP and LP filters, and cross modulation capability, the JX-08 offers plenty of range to create pummeling bass, searing leads, and evocative arps — and that’s before you even dig into the effects section. In addition to the classic JUNO-106 chorus and reverb from the Dimension D SDD-320, you have plenty of sound-mangling options, including pitch shifting, lo-fi effects, and many more. With the option for 2-part multitimbral operation, the JX-08 Boutique Series module is ready to handle bass and lead duties simultaneously. You can also tap into its 2-part nature with the powerful onboard sequencer, supporting two parts with up to 64 steps each. Motion recording allows you to record complex parameter movements along with your patterns. A random pattern generator is ready to provide instant inspiration. And with storage for up to 128 patterns, you have plenty of room to save inspired chord progressions, bass lines, and leads.
