Complimenting the popular chrome-over-brass True-Sonic snare, the DW Pure Maple True-Sonic Snare Drum is the result of experimenting with placing DW’s patented Snare Bridge system on a wood shell. The final product is a warm and rich drum with sensitive, even snare response across all tuning ranges.

The shell on this drum is made from 11 plies of maple, and using DW’s VLT (Vertical Low Timbre) configuration. This means the outer- and inner-most plies run vertically rather than horizontally (a more common configuration), allowing the drum to resonate more freely.

DW’s Snare Bridge system features a bridge that runs the length of the snare head that distributes the snare tension evenly across the head. Combine this with the 3-position butt plate allowing you to change snare tensions on a dime, and you have a drum with orchestral-like snare response and plenty of versatility in how much snare you want in your sound.
