In true LP style, the Gibson USA Les Paul Classic features a pair of potent-sounding Burstbucker humbuckers. With the 61T and 61R versions in the bridge and neck positions respectively, these powerful pickups project a strong and vibrant upper mid-range; akin to that of a traditional PAF.

 

Beneath the Les Paul Classic’s old-school surface, there’s some seriously clever circuitry. With all controls boasting a push-pull function, the volume knobs allow you to coil-tap the humbuckers for convincing single-coil sounds. The tone knobs give you even more flexibility. One of them engages a pure bypass mode that removes the tone circuits from your signal; for a purer, unrestrained top-end. The other tone control push-pull offers a sweet out-of-phase sound, which works particularly well with clean tones.

 

Hardware

Gibson’s ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge provides a stable and solid feel under the right hand, with its simple and accessible design making it easy to adjust your action or intonation. Combined with an aluminium stopbar, this resonant material enhances the Les Paul Classic’s sustain.
